Concert On The Screen is a must see and hear way for to celebrate our wonderful Island. Kelly Field is the bass playing foundation of many, perhaps most Gabriola bands and the inspiration for the show. Before the pandemic Kelly had planned a fundraiser where he would learn to play the music of his least favourite band, the Beatles. Kinda like Fabio getting his head shaved for charity. That got cancelled until one day, Dave Teichroeb, who also plays in a band with Kelly, uttered the words Concert On The Screen. A replacement fundraiser for the long running Concert On The Green was Born.

The Band

Who are these talented local musicians? The steller band of our Gabriola musical kin have been working hard tduring the pandemic to create a must see musical experience. Eight musicians. Four singing the leads and four playing the tunes.

Kelly Field is the bass playing foundation of many, perhaps most Gabriola bands and the inspiration for the show.
Andreas Kahre(drums) grew up in Ringo’s shadow, and tried to get away by chosing a life of wanton free jazz, contemporary gamelan and electronic music. But as he has since learned, there is no escaping the fab four.
Frank Sehr is Gabriola’s guitar virtuoso who performs weekly at the Surf. Kelly and Andreas join him in a band performing progressive and art rock.
Ian Cox plays keys and has studied music at Capilano University, written and arranged choral music, led original projects and played some of Canada’s biggest music festivals.
Fraser  Gabbott(vocals and guitar) has a vast repertoire of English bands, especially the Beatles. A talented harpist and guitarist as well, he will sing a few solo tunes at half time.
Jennefer Laidley (vocals)performs in the Gabriola Chamber Ensemble choir and at Gabriola open Mic’s. In the before time she was a member of Toronto’s Rock-N-Roll Newchoir.
David Botten(vocals) is singer, actor, musician, and graphic artist. A member of Twilight Radio Theatre and many local bands.
Chris Doherty(vocals) is a singer/guitarist for Gabriola band Deja’vu. His big charm and talent shines when it come to covering the Beatles.
